核心概念：

原级： 形容词本身的形式，描述一个事物本身的性质。例如：tall (高的), big (大的), interesting (有趣的)。

比较级： 用于比较两个人或事物（通常是两者），表示“更．．．”。例如：taller (更高的), bigger (更大的), more interesting (更有趣的)。

最高级： 用于比较三个或三个以上的人或事物，表示“最．．．”。例如：the tallest (最高的), the biggest (最大的), the most interesting (最有趣的)。

一、形容词比较级和最高级的构成规则

规则主要取决于形容词的音节数和结尾字母。

1．  单音节形容词和部分双音节形容词（特别是以 y, er, ow, le 结尾的）：

比较级： 形容词 + er

最高级： 形容词 + est

拼写注意：

以单个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节词：双写词尾辅音字母再加 er/est。

big > bigger > the biggest

hot > hotter > the hottest

thin > thinner > the thinnest

以辅音字母 + y 结尾：变 y 为 i 再加 er/est。

happy > happier > the happiest

easy > easier > the easiest

busy > busier > the busiest

以 e 结尾：直接加 r/st。

large > larger > the largest

nice > nicer > the nicest

safe > safer > the safest

2．  多音节形容词（三个或以上音节）和大部分双音节形容词（不以 y, er, ow, le 结尾）：

比较级： more + 形容词原级

最高级： the most + 形容词原级

3．  不规则变化： 必须单独记忆！

注意： farther/farthest 通常指实际物理距离；further/furthest 也可指距离，还常指抽象程度上的“更进一步/最大程度”。older/oldest 用于一般比较年龄或新旧；elder/eldest 主要用于表示家庭成员中的长幼关系（如 my elder brother）。

二、形容词比较级和最高级的用法

1．  比较级的用法：

句型： A + be动词 + 形容词比较级 + than + B

Lucy is taller than Lily． (露西比莉莉高。)

This book is more interesting than that one． (这本书比那本书更有趣。)

My room is smaller than yours． (我的房间比你的小。)

表示“越来越．．．”： 比较级 + and + 比较级

The weather is getting hotter and hotter． (天气变得越来越热。)

Our city is becoming more and more beautiful． (我们的城市变得越来越美丽。)

表示“越．．．就越．．．”： The + 比较级．．．, the + 比较级．．．

The more you practice, the better your English will be． (你练习得越多，你的英语就会越好。)

The earlier you start, the sooner you finish． (你开始得越早，完成得就越快。)

2．  最高级的用法：

句型： A + be动词 + the + 形容词最高级 + (比较范围)

Tom is the tallest (boy) in our class． (汤姆是我们班（男生中）最高的。)

This is the most delicious cake I have ever eaten． (这是我吃过的最美味的蛋糕。)

The Yangtze River is the longest river in China． (长江是中国最长的河流。)

比较范围：

通常用介词短语表示，如 in + 集体/场所 (在．．．里), of / among + 复数个体 (在．．．之中), that I have ever + 过去分词 (我所．．．过的最．．．的)。

在特定语境中，如果范围明确，可以省略。

注意定冠词 the： 在最高级前面通常要加定冠词 the。

总结记忆口诀：

> 比较两者用 er，或者前面加 more；

> 最高三者或以上，est 或 the most 来帮忙。

> 单音短词加后缀，双多音节 more/most 放。

> 辅音 y 改 i，重闭双写别遗忘。

> good/well, bad/ill, many/much 不规则，特殊变化记心上。

> 比较 than，最高 the 加范围，对象一致不能忘。
