The fifth day of the fifth lunar month is an important day in China． The day is the Duanwu Festival, or the Dragon Boat Festival． People celebrate it everywhere in China．
The festival is about a great poet (诗人), Qu Yuan, in the Warring States Period (战国时期)． Qu Yuan loved his country very much, but his ruler (统治者) let him go away． His life was tragic because he jumped into the river and ended his life． People went to save him in their boats, throwing rice balls so that the fish would not eat his body．
Now people have the dragon boat races and eat zongzi to celebrate the festival．
