Two Swiss pilots, Bertrand Piccard and Andre Borschberg, operated Solar Impulse 2. They took off from Abu Dhabi and flew over the Arabian Sea, to India, Myanmar, China, across the Pacific Ocean to the US, then across the Atlantic to North Africa or Southern Europe.
Solar Impulse 2 has a winspan(翼展)equal to that of the largest passenger airliner but weighs the same as a family car at 2,300 kg.
There are 17,000 solar cells into the wings, which can provide energy for four engines. During the day, the solar cells change solar power into electricity and make the plane fly. The solar cells also recharge(充电)lithium batteries(锂电池), which make the airplane fly at night.

Humans’ Greatest Achievements
The Earth is about 4.6 billion years old, but the humans have lived on it for just 200,000 years. In that short time, we have achieved some amazing things.

Can you imagine living without electricity? What about the printing press(印刷术) ? Without the printing press, you wouldn’t be reading this. In the last 50 years, there have been great achievements in communication, such as radio, TV, computers, the Internet. and smartphones(智能手机). 42
What about the arts? The arts have brought pleasure to many people, but are the Beatles and Bach more important than antibiotics? 43
Finally, we must not forget humans’ early achievements. 44 We can’t imagine modem life without cooked food and cars.
What are humans’ greatest achievements? To answer the question, we need to decide what we mean by “great”. 45 Or is it just something that makes us say “Wow”, like the Great Wall? What do you think?

根据“those years ... I lived on the farm with the farmers”可知这是个限制性定语从句,先行词“those years”表示时间,在从句中作时间状语,用when引导定语从句;再由“has a great effect on my life”可知此处是非限制性定语从句,先行词those years,指时间,在从句中作主语,用which引导定语从句。故选D。
