专题08 阅读还原(七选五)

主题01 人与自我——方法与哲理

Passage 1

(24-25九年级上·江苏·期末)

How to improve your memory?

Do you find it difficult to remember important facts and figures? Or have you ever forgotten someone’s name at the worst possible moment?    1

Exercise regularly

That’s right; we mean physical exercise. Research shows that leading a sedentary (久坐的) lifestyle can lead to memory loss. So put on those trainers, go outside and start working up a good sweat (大汗淋漓).    1

Play video games

Yes, you heard us. Get on that controller and spend a couple of hours playing your favourite video game. It’s good for your mind, according to a recent study.    1    Too much of it can be bad for you.

Eat vegetables

It’s a well-known fact that eating vegetables can help you keep healthy.    1    Some research papers say that fruits and vegetables can help lower oxidative stress (氧化压力) in your brain as well as help keep its healthy cognitive functions (认知功能).

Reduce stress levels

Intense and persistent (强烈而持久的) stress, especially at high levels, can easily make your memory and cognitive skills worse.    1    You can do this by taking a walk or something like that.

A.But don’t play for a long time.

B.You can’t possibly remember everything.

C.It’s healthy for both your mind and your body.

D.You can exercise your brain by using it.

E.So slow down and relax yourself.

F.There are many things you can do to improve your memory.

G.And it’s also healthy for your brain.

Passage 2

(25-26九年级上·山东·期末)We often hear of people who make long journeys to different parts of the world, with some even making it all the way to space. However, the biggest journey one can make is within oneself. The self-discovery journey helps you feel more confident and at peace with yourself. Then, how do you start your journey of self-discovery?    1

You may start with finding out what you like most about yourself. It could be about how creative you are about your ability to care about others or about your skills in playing an instrument or a sport. This will help you know better about your personal values or abilities.

Knowing what makes you excited is also helpful. What makes your eyes light up?    1    It could be when you are performing a dance on stage, when you help your dad fix his computer, or even when you are doing research on your school science project.

It is always more comfortable to be on familiar (熟悉的) ground. However, in order to discover yourself you will need to put yourself in some uncomfortable situations.    2    This may make you feel nervous, but it will give you a chance to learn more about how you feel and think when challenged.

What is your true purpose in life?    3    As you go about your daily activities, ask yourself these questions to learn about your true self. Such questioning will help you to think deeply and realize what kind of person you want to be.

4    As you go through life, the experiences can change you, and this helps you grow. As Ariana Huffington said, “The journey towards self-discovery is life’s greatest adventure.”

A.It’s never too late to learn.

B.Who or what do you want to be?

C.As the saying goes, “Life is short.”

D.The following may be of some help to you.

E.The self-discovery journey is a lifelong journey.

F.For example, you have to give a speech in public.

G.This will tell you where your true joy comes from.

Passage 3

(24-25九年级上·江苏宿迁·期末)No matter whether you are rich or poor, young or old, everyone needs friends.     1     But not everyone is good at making friends. How can we do it? Let me give you some advice.

2     If you want to make friends, you first need to put yourself out to meet people. If you just sit alone, friends are not likely to come to you.

Smile at everybody. Smiling can make the distance between you and others much shorter.     3

Be friendly to others. People always prefer to make friends with people who are friendly and sincere to them.

1     If you are considerate (体贴的) and helpful to others, they will want to make friends with you. As the old saying goes, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.”

However, not every friend could be a good friend. You might develop some bad habits from the bad friends.     2

A.Don’t laugh at your friends

B.Find places to make new friends.

C.Make friends with people online.

D.Think more of others and help others more.

E.We can share our happiness and sadness with friends.

F.So making a good friend is important.

G.Smiling can make not only you, but also your friends happy.

Steps Towards Happiness

Life is full of both happiness and sadness. The following skills can help improve your happiness.

Be kind to yourself

Small troubles, like making mistakes and judging yourselves strictly, can affect your mental health. But remember, it’s not always your fault. Learn to care for yourself.     1

Find your happiness

Different things bring joy to different people. For example, some find great joy in watching a football game.     1     Everyone is different, so understanding what brings you peace and happiness is important. Explore and discover what you truly enjoy.

Stay active

1     Sitting for long periods can lead to weight gain, increased disease risks, and boredom. Start by getting up, taking a walk, or going for a run.

Improve your relationships

1     It’s important to spend time with friends and take part in meaningful conversations with those you live with. Put down your mobile phone and have a chat. It can make your day happier.

Eat properly

Your attitude and mental health can significantly improve in a few weeks by eating the right foods.     1     Avoid taking too much processed food.

A few simple steps can make you happier. Give it a try, as even small changes can make a big difference in your happiness.

A.Challenge yourself.

B.Being kind to others is also important.

C.However, others may not enjoy it as much.

D.Humans live social lives and depend on one another.

E.Avoid sitting all day long as it is not good for your health.

F.Offer self-encouragement, just as you would to a friend.

G.Try to keep a well-balanced diet that is close to nature.

主题02 人与自我——学习与策略

Passage 1

(24-25九年级上·江苏镇江·期末)We all wish there was a magic trick to remember English words easily. After all, we can meet tons of new words while reading books, newspapers or magazines. I’ve got a little secret that has helped me build a large English vocabulary (词汇).     1

Before you start, you will need to have two things ready. First, you should prepare a notebook.     2     Also, it should match your level. Personally, I like to use newspaper articles to learn English after school. As I read, I underline (划线) some useful words and phrases. But how do I know I’ve collected “enough” words and expressions?     3     If I can, I know I have done a good job.

4     Then you can go over everything you’ve written down. As you go through the list in your notebook, think about how the main ideas in the material are connected.     5     However, if you don’t go over your notes, you’ll forget them soon. Also, if you aren’t able to use them in daily conversation or writing, it will be meaningless.

This trick has worked well for me. I hope it’ll do the same for you on your journey to remembering as many words as you need!

A.How many words have you remembered while reading?

B.And then choose a reading material you are interested in.

C.I ask myself if I can retell the main ideas from the material with them.

D.Would you like to try it?

E.After that, you can copy those words and phrases into your notebook.

F.Then just read the words and phrases aloud as often as possible.

G.This may sound boring.

Passage 2

(24-25九年级上·云南普洱·期末)Maybe you’ll meet a word that you don’t know in an exam. Most students may be nervous if a dictionary is not around them. But don’t worry!     1

Read the whole sentence.     2     You may forget what you are reading when you meet a new word. Then try to think about the content (内容) of the sentence.

3     This will make it different from other parts and you will pick it from the rest of the sentence easily. You can often use other words in the sentence to help you find out the meaning of the unknown word.

Think about what else is happening in the sentence. For example, maybe you are looking at a sentence that says, “It was a very sultry day in the middle of the summer.” You may understand each word but “sultry”. Think about what you know about summer. It is likely that “sultry” has something to do with the weather.     4

In a word, don’t be afraid of new words.     5     Then you can also understand the sentence or the passage better.

A.Asking questions.

B.Practicing and learning from mistakes.

C.It can help you understand the word easily.

D.Try guessing the meaning by the background.

E.Try your best to understand them by using these ways.

F.Your first step is to go back and reread the whole sentence.

G.There are some ways that can help you guess the meaning of a word without a dictionary.

Passage 3

(24-25九年级上·江西赣州·期末)This year may be your busiest school year because you are preparing for important exams. As far as we know, good study habits will help you make full use of your time and get your ideal grades.     1

Stay away from the things that stop you from studying

Turn off your computer and your phone when you study.     1     If you turn them off, it’s easier to concentrate on your study. You can read your messages and look up information later.

    2

You may have a regular place to study — a quiet room or a corner of the school library. But scientists say it helps you remember better if you study the same thing in two different places. For example, you can read your Chinese textbooks in your classroom and in the school garden. See if you remember what you learned better than if you had read the same thing twice in the classroom.

Don’t just learn one skill at a time.

Have you ever seen athletes training? They usually do strength, speed and skills training together.     1     The answer is “Yes”. It is better to learn different skills than just one at a time. For example, if you study English, you may want to study vocabulary, grammar and reading all at the same time.

Space out (间隔开) your studying

Most of you may have the experience of studying for a long time the night before a test. That may get you a good grade on an exam.     1     Scientists find that spacing out your studying improves your ability to remember things and helps you form long-term memory. You can study for an hour tonight, an hour on the weekend, another hour a week from now. Then you won’t need to stay up all night for a test.

Hope these tips are helpful to you and look forward to receiving your good news.

A.Does our brain work like that?

B.Here is some advice from scientists.

C.Study the same thing in different places.

D.They probably prevent you from studying.

E.Don’t go to the kitchen for something to eat or drink.

F.But unluckily, you will soon forget all the things you learned.

G.Unluckily, studying with friends may not help improve your study results.
